Maintaining multiple servers at the same time is highly cumbersome: data center bastion hosts, virtual machines in test environments, and edge nodes at customer sites. Many maintenance personnel are accustomed to keeping multiple PuTTY/MobaXterm windows open and typing commands one by one from memory, with commonly used commands scattered across notes and chat records. There was once a case in which logs were being cleaned in batches on two machines; as windows were switched back and forth, a deletion command nearly got entered into the wrong machine. To avoid getting lost among multiple command windows, SSH connections should preferably be centrally managed, commands should be continuously accumulated and made reusable, and execution paths should be clear with output echoed.

Among existing solutions, PuTTY is free but lacks a connection library; Xshell and MobaXterm have expensive licenses and are bloated; pure command-line SSH cannot solve the need to reuse a set of commands across multiple machines with one click. SSHDesktop is a lightweight SSH remote tool for the Windows platform. Its interface is plain, and it focuses solely on doing three things well: connection management, command management, and result feedback.

Typical usage scenarios include: · On-duty operations and maintenance: save commands such as check disk space, check server load, and clean temporary files as commands that can be executed repeatedly; double-click to load, connect via SSH, and execute immediately, with clear and traceable output; · Multi-environment inspection: connection lists are arranged in groups; when switching connections, the old session is disconnected immediately, eliminating cross-session misoperations; · Machine replacement migration: export defined connections and commands, encrypt them into a .shd backup, and restore and import them on a new computer, so that connections, commands, and private keys are all in place at once.
